I set up my first ca reactor. I am using a ref octopus 140, and Milwaukee controller and regulator. The info i found said i should set it up with about 60 ml per min effluent. set point on the controller at 6.5, and about 1 bubble per 3 sec. My reactor has a bubble counter and so does the regulator. So I set the bubble per sec on the reactor 3per sec and that made it slightly higher in the regulator. I set the effluent a little more than 70-75 ml per min, the set point on the controller about 6.7, i didn't go for 6.5 cause it started at 8.1 and had a long way to go by the time it got to 7 the tank ph had fallen to 8.0 so i turned it up to 6.7 but will turn it down to 6.5 today. Now how do i tell if that is good, i assume by waiting and testing ca and waiting and testing. Should i test for anything besides ca for the reactor? What do adjustments do? like what happens if i turn up or down the effluent, or the co2, or the set point on the controller? Any thing else i should know? Thanks from the experienced ca reactor users.

How is your tank stocked with coral at this point and what types of coral?

its a heavily stocked 175 bowfront mixed reef plenty of sps/colonies. Fuge on reverse photo period and a geo kalk reactor for top off
