I have a ca reactor and it works great.. When I try to tuneit I adjust the water flow to a slow stream and use my apex to adjust the gaslevel in the reactor... I adjust the ph to 6.5 in my reactor and it let it set24 hours.. I tested my alk and it was high so I turned down the gas and waited another24 hours and retested.. I adjusted the co2 by .05 each time thinking it won’ttake much to get too tuned.. It got to the point that the ph on my reactor wasat 7.15 and my alk was still climbing up but was not climbing as fast... Iwanted to keep adjusting my ph with the apex but figured I would ask you guysthis question after someone told me something I don't think is right.. So here’sthe question. I use reborn media and every time I test my alk has gone upleading me to believe the media is being used. the guy I talked to said thatthe ph needs to be lowered to a certain level or you won’t get the calcium to dissolve..I always thought at as long as the media is being used up the alk and calciumwill dissolve at the same rate. is this true that the calcium wont dissolve ata high ph or can I keep raising my PH until I get my alk is stable and calcium willstill be dissolved into the tank

Lower your drip rate and bubble rate. Seems like your putting to much in regardless of the ph setting.

Lower both at the same rate if u lower your bubble rate or your influent rate differently you will have more problems the average flow Tate through the reactor should be about 40 cc per min and bubble rate 20 per min...remember like all things in reef tanks time a patienceslow is key...I make custom reactors and I always tell my customers to start out slow and test weekly for the first weeks they get the hang of it.. What was your calc level in the begaining..remember a calc reactor is for sustaining levels for the most part

thanks guys for the info but I got it figured out.. I called my good friend beefy and what he explained to me was what I thought was right.. I just let someone get in my head and make me second guess myself..

Check out the set up instructions at Geos Reef, very good info that applies to any reactor, media or controller.
