Ca reactor solenoid questions

You want to run the drip 24/7 whether the CO2 is on or not. When water sits still it starts to go septic from lack of oxygen.

I used a Milwaukee SMS-122 pH controller for years and never had a problem at all with it. I recently bought a new Digital Aquatics ReefKeeper Lite L3 and am now monitoring and controlling the pH and solenoid with it. They start at $99 for the basic unit and have tons of different uses.

I have been running it 24/7 and thought that it need to be shut off.
Do you use a controller?

The reactor needs to be running all the time, meaning it is drawing in tank water and dripping water back to the tank all the time. A pH controller will control the solenoid that shuts off the CO2, closing the solenoid and stopping the CO2 flow to the reactor when the pH gets too low. Too low of a pH will turn your reactor media to mush, and if left too long will affect the pH of your tank and possibly wipe it out. Sooooo, it is best to have a controller.....
