CA-rx effluent -- needs to be going into skimmer intake?!

I have my CA-rx effluent going into sump dripping from 2 inch above water line. This is above the skimmer intake. I hear it is best to route the effluent into intake via a tube or a bypass diy setup...

Is this really important ? Right now seems like not all effluent will get intake from skimmer due to the flow in the sump!

Just get it close to the intake and you should be fine. Mine drips into a small tube with coral bones.
Its about 6" away from my skimmers intake. This has worked well.
