Newbie here. I purchased my first few pieces of coral recently. I was told that the one pictured here is a cabbage coral, tho the guy working didn't seem overly confident. While doing some research I read that it needs space between it and other corals which brings me to my issue. There is another type of coral growing on the rock. It was small when I bought it but it has since grown and now they are touching. Is this an issue or am I just freaking out over nothing?

It's a Sinulara, same family as cabbage coral. The other coral appears to be either Zoanthids or Palythoas, they should be fine next to each other for awhile, until one start to shade the other.

I have cabbage and other coral close to each other with no problems. just be careful of what you put them next to.

I recently posted a similar post on another forum. My cabbage coral was next to a toadstool and Kenya tree and they all started to shrivel so I'm guessing they were releasing toxins into the water at each other. I've since given them all space from each and they've all started to open up again.
