Will had a mishap with my 120g and have to get everything out of the basement including wet carpet and the tank [emoji22] And everything was doing see well. I should have the new tank in the next few weeks, hopefully. Redoing the floor with an epoxy paint, no more carpet, still have to get the drywall fixed. To help with the transition moving stuff into a 40br and a 20g. Some stuff will have to be sold off as I won't have enough room in the new tank for everything.

I do have a question. I'm thinking of going bare bottom, but love the sand look. Going bare bottom will I need to use extra filtration? Bio pellets, refugium,...

Thanks

Just need to vacuum the crap on the glass. My first two tanks where bb. I would use my algae scraper while siphoning.

Drywall is fixed finally. Need to get a few more items out of the basement then it can be epoxy coated

Still waiting on the aquarium. Now I'm told the end of May for delivery.

I feel your pain. It took me over a month to get everything for my 68 Versa. CAD Lights is kind of a nightmare customer service wise, but they make a beautiful product. Looking forward to the new build!

OK, new wrinkle. Still no ETA on the tank. This tank was ordered back on March 11th. I threw this out to Marine Depot that was thinking of cancelling because it has been so long. I told them I was also interested in the Red Sea Reefer 350 (73g). That's another $400 more than the CAD Lights. They're willing to work with me on the price because it has been so long. Argh what to do?

Again, having just had to deal with CAD Lights, I would totally go with the Red Sea Reefer if Marine Depot is willing to work with you on the price. Waiting since March 11th is absolutely ridiculous. You are far more patient than I was. I ordered my tank on April 26th, and received the tank about a month later with no sump and plumbing missing. It took us literally calling every day for a bout week and literally telling CAD lights that my boyfriend was about to deploy before they got the ball rolling on the missing stuff, and even then they lied. We finally got the sump and missing parts this past Friday. The glass lid was smashed into a million pieces, but everything else was good. Save yourself the grief and go with the other tank. If I had the option I totally would've done it.

Thanks for your input. We'll see what happens. The tank arrived in town last night per tracking info. Other than contact through Marine Depot's Twitter person, I have not received any communication from Marine Depot or CAD Lights about shipping, and where to receive the tank.

I really don't want to use the return pump that came with the tank. Suggestions on a DC return pump. I'd like to make this tank quiet as possible.

Ecotech vectra is dead silent. My Jebao DCT-6000 is unhearable unless you are in the cabinet. My deltec sc1456 is louder than the DCT if that tells you anything :)

I was thinking about the Vectra. I need to do more research, issues with adapters?

Can post their experience with the stand build. Any tips on building the stand.

Thanks

I went with a gate valve on mine, just like the better control of it. I completely re-arranged all of my plumbing, I only have one 90 on mine, the gate valve. I put in 45s where I could to keep the noise and flow restriction down. I put unions before my gate and one before my sump feed. Here are some pics that may help you out with your plumbing. I installed a manifold in mine so I can run my reactors off of one pump. I'm using a DC3000 for my manifold and a DCT4000 for my return. I ordered most of my extra parts from CoralVue. I used the gate valve they have for their skimmers, same functions for allot less $$. Good Luck and keep us posted

Nice setup. I'm still in the beginning stages. I need a 3rd/4th pair of hands to tighten up the bulkhead fittings lol.

I use a DCT4000 for my return pump and it is plenty powerful. You may want to run your emergency overflow line to an area that will make some noise so you can tell if it's overflowing.;) It's looking good!
