Quick update. Cad Lights came last night and picked up the 2 damaged tanks from my house. The balance due to Fed Ex is still pending. Manny at Marine Depot called me today and said they were having a face to face meeting with Cad Lights today and will get back to me tomorrow.

Spoke with Marine Depot today about the balance due to Fed Ex and Manny said he still have not heard back from CAD Lights about this situation but the owner is aware of it. Wow!!! Also the plumbing they send me that they said would guarantee work did not fit. The return PVC assembled metric size piping is hitting the main Durso drain. Sent pictures to Marine Depot for evaluation and Manny said Jason at CAD Lights looked at the pictures also and is going to work on a resolution and will get back to Manny. This ordeal has been going on since April and it is now August. I just want this tank to be up and running already. I sort of feel like this was not meant to be and I am pushing to hard to have this tank. What will happen next?? Maybe a tank leak?? Crossing my fingers and toes this nightmare will be over soon.

Cad Lights made no attempt to rectify the plumbing issue nor the balance due to Fed Ex. Marine Depot being caught up in the middle of this mess really had no excuses or explanations for Cad Lights actions. Manny at Marine Depot said to not worry about the over due balance notices being sent to me because they don't have my SS # to come after me and go into collections. To me that is a really dirty business practice on Cad Lights part. So since Jason at Cad Lights never got back to Manny at Marine Depot about the plumbing, Manny took it upon himself along with the help of others at Marine Depot to come up with a solution to help me with the plumbing. Manny overnighted some tubing and a y fitting. unfortunately the combo didn't work out, but I was able to cut some of the tubing and use a 90 degree fitting and some of the hose Manny sent me to finally clear the Durso drain. So much for a plug and play tank that I paid for initially. This morning I put some water in the over flow box area and testing for leaks. I will go home later and see how that went. Hoping to finally fill the tank with water tonight. Overall I can not recommend anyone to purchase a Cad Lights tank. Once they have your money they could care less about their customers. So since the third tank they sent out was drilled and plumbed metric it made things further frustrating. I just hope later on I won't have to replumb or change the seals, because I don"t even know where I would be able to buy metric stuff.

Wow this has been a terrible experience. Im very sorry, but I will always keep this in mind if I ever think about buy a cadlights tank. Which will probably be never

Yeah, worst birthday present to myself. Lol. It seems like people who buy the tanks that are on site tend to get a better product. Also people who live local to them. I guess they don't want the hassle of people coming face to face with them everyday. It just amazes me that even the owner of CAD Lights is aware of all the problems with my order since April and has not even reached out to me with any resolution or apologies to try and make things right once and for all. You see they didn't even come on this post once to say anything even after Reef2reef tagged them on this post. Taking advantage of unknowing hobbyist and people who give them the benefit of the doubt not once, but 3 times. Shame on me for being a dummy and trusting true cut throat business company.

Since you are in NY and MACNA is in DC....if you were planning on going, you might get a resolution to anything left open as I am pretty sure CAD lights is going to have a booth...just an idea for you.

I already tried to bring these same issues up to them face to face at RAP. I went there both days to show them I was seriously concerned and nothing came of it. Just a bunch of empty promises to get me out of their face until they jumped on that plane back to Cali

I'm really sorry to hear that....Empty promises and bad customer service will be the downfall of the company if they dont change it soon! I hate that there are companies like this in the reefing community!

Hello Dnyceli-We wanted to take a moment and sincerely apologize for all this inconvenience that this has caused you. We understand that this has been frustrating for you and has taken an extensive amount of time without resolution to your problem. Please understand that we are trying to do everything possible on our part to get this issue resolved with CAD Lights. We are reaching out to CAD Lights as well to try to get this resolved ASAP. Our original offer of a full refund for the aquarium and stand that was presented to you before this weekend still stands. Please give Manny a call whenever you have a spare moment. In the meantime, we will still work hard to get this resolved without any further delay. We sincerely thank you for your time and patience.

You need to drop them as a vendor. Read the posts on R2R. This does not provide a good image of the vendors you off and damages the Marine Depot name. This hobby is expensive enough without having to deal with poor quality at a premium and horrible customer service. Usually you get what you pay for in this hobby. I would hope that Marine Depot would listen to the feedback on these blogs and protect their customers.

Thank you very much for your feedback. There are occasional issues, but the large majority of CAD Light aquariums (and equipment) are without problems/defects. We continually work with CAD Lights to resolve problems that do arise and improve business processes. Things have improved significantly since last year when this thread was created. Aside from Red Sea, which we also carry but at a significantly higher price point for shoppers, we have not been able to find a better manufacturer that offers aquariums of similar quality/price.
