Blood draw this morning and they wrecked my arm :loudly-crying-face:

I'm sorry, but if the patient tells you "right arm, you'll probably need a butterfly, it's the cephalic that usually works" then stop stabbing everything else under the sun. Chances are, I know this because I've been through this a few times already.

Eventually she called the woman in who did it the last 2 times I was in (both last month, too) and the first thing she did was ask if she tried a butterfly or not (not, was the answer) because she recognized me and my stupid tiny veins.

Also, lady #1 lectured me about my tattoos, and how the test results won't be accurate because my arms are covered there and they have to draw through the tattoo. Which is absolute horse****. She also told me I should refrain from getting any more tattoos in those areas (my ditches are completely tattooed, left arm is a full sleeve, right is a 3/4 w/ a gap then bracelet).

Dude What???

That phlebotomist is ridiculous. I have veins that both roll, and collapse. I'm up front about that any time I have to do a blood draw.

When I see them Not setting up the butterfly, I warn them they're going to lose it and they only get to stick me once.

On the spot, after losing the vein, I've told a few of them to go Get someone who actually can listen and knows what they were doing. I can land an iv catheter in the right spot every time and it's not my job.

How did your ditches heal? My right took 3 touch ups.

That's why I warn them everytime. The one who ended up doing it is the one who said my veins were fine, they don't roll or collapse, they're just very small and deep and hard to hit.

All I drank over the weekend was water and my morning coffee. I go out of my way to hit water harder than usual before blood draws because of how much they struggle to begin with. I'm not dehydrated by any stretch.

Also dannngggg. Mine healed just fine. My skin takes ink beautifully, so long as it isn't orange. It doesn't hold orange well.

Kalk powder showed up last night, going to start the assault after coffee.

Not sure if my fiji will make it today, per usual - delivery company seems to have a delay.
