@danieyella I have had similar experiences trying to sell stuff on Marketplace. I now always say in ad “Cash Only” that helps some. Scammers are clever but they don’t need your phone number for any reason. And they were always the ones respond back immediately after posting the ad. Had one tell me he pays only with Zelle and I had to get Zelle too. No you’re a scammer I told him. Another wanted me to send my cell number so she could send me a code and I send it back to verify I wasn’t a scammer. Wrong, you are the scammer and actually told her to F off but that didn’t deter her she was very persistent and I had to block her.

Alright: icp came back for little cade (cube). Interestingly enough, I triggered a little tin on my ro sample, but nothing in the tank itself.

Otherwise, all is well except low iodide. Now to plug it all into my calculator and see what my first shine dosages on this tank pan out to.

I hate selling on-line. buying, not so bad, but selling is a nightmare.

I check their location; if I see eastern Europe, probably not really engaging with you.

Yeah, I checked their info immediately, every single post was a bible quote or something similar with zero engagement which sent up lots of red flags for me. Once I got him to engage in convo, husband and I were like - well maybe he had a marketplace alert set for the term cade, it could happen. Then when I gave him my email for the payment, he spit out some really crazy convoluted scripted sounding sentence out of nowhere. I was on the phone w/ Matt at the time and read it and was like "so, does this scream scam at you as well?" and he said yeah now it does for sure. Then everything else happened.

I would have called scam (and I think you saw it too) at the "is this still available?" Homie, it's been up for 5 minutes! Of course it's still available.

He asked if I had photos and if it was in brand new condition, and I said the photos are attached to the ad, It clearly states that it is not brand new, as evidenced by the photos. what the heck my guy

I wouldn't even entertain sending him any of my info until I got him to ask real questions (about the lights). I'm glad I was still suspicious enough to only give email instead of phone number.

On the other side though, I sold my terrarium to a dude named "Boostie" who did no haggling over price and offered $50 for delivery. Nice dude. I felt like a donkey for doubting him.

I've had similar experiences, which is why I tried to not be a twat and give him a chance initially. Just, with extreme caution.

"don't be a twat" is just solid life advice in general. shame more people don't take it.

I didn't really have any crazy scam attempts (that I know of) but when I sold my Silverado mid 2020 when COVID spiked used truck prices to crazy levels, I had something like 30 messages overnight, trying to buy it. Offering over listing... I just went from the first contact= first chance. 5 people set up an appt to come see/buy it and no call/no showed. I was astounded by people's manners.

I have 4 radion xr30 blues with a A360X Tuna Blue in between each Radion(3 total) at a height of 16 inches off the top of the tank to help reduce heat, water splash and get more spread. I just added the kessils about 2 months about. Wanted a little shimmer and that look of a kessil. The kessils are dialed in to all blue. Come on at 7am to 9pm. I use them as my lights to adjust if people are over for party after 9pm. I do not mess with the radion schedule. ..
As far as glass or acrylic, I have a 300 acrylic and planning a 600 or more tank. Was going to do glass, build on site but after seeing some horrors like glass bottoms of tanks giving up or seams I am going to build a acylic 600 myself with friends. I have a full size table cnc. a table laser and getting a acylic bender... been building sumps for now, ato containers, anything out of cast acrylic. Just cut out 5 gallon containers for ato and kalk for me have to glue them... post pics when I am done.. In the development stage on how to add lights small led to them...

mr clean magic erasers plain ones that do not have cleaner chemicals on them work great on acrylic...I use them...

haha should have gave him the local PD, non emergency number...told him you were a phone operator and call you there...lol
