Cade Chaos Grimoire

Okay. Finishing my coffee, then tackling the existing rock in the cube. Including harassing the aiptasia.

Foxface, bangaii, and MB are the only ones out. Everyone else is hiding and sulking.

CUC coming consists of: spider conch, 2 tiger conchs, 4 tongan nassarius, 3 trochus, 1 emerald crab, 22 fl ceriths, 12 nassarius vibex, 5 astraea, 44 dwarf ceriths, 5 nerites, 7 "assorted" hermits, and 2 turbos.

To add to 1 fl fighting conch, and whatever snails/hermits I was able to find and transfer with.

I may need to add more sand sifting friends as time goes on, since the bed is so much deeper now. But we'll play it by ear for a bit.

It’s getting there!

I made several of my rock structures also. I found superglue alone was not strong enough and hold over time. I super glued and then mortar over top of that. There is an amount of art to it.

I am absolutely not an artist in that respect

Fish I did not actually catch yesterday:

Possum wrasse
Royal Gramma
Molly Miller Blenny
Purple firefish

I've seen the gramma and possum since adding things into the tank. They hitchhiked in rock water buckets.

Okay - rock is functional for now. Got a glimpse of the molly miller blenny again. Hopefully I left enough gaps in rock to allow flow and prevent dead space in the center.

All firefish, dusky, leopard, etc all hiding still. Marine Betta thinks he's hiding.

Dosed some snow to hopefully pull out more of the random particle mess.

CUC adding Wednesday.

If everything is still going smoothly in a few weeks, maybe I'll actually buy more corals and start treating this like a reef tank again instead of a holding zone. Any changes would just be from one tank to another in the same house, no more moves across cities and counties.

Might focus on the softies I want staying in here longterm though.

Did you use reefcleaners? I need to place an order in February.
Yeah, I've never had an issue. Usually do the overnight though.

I did 2 day last year and had 100% survival.
I always end up with at least one something that requires overnight lol. This time it's the conchs

Yeah. Those silly asterisks.
I usually do a refresh every 6 months. If I'm able to get away with not ordering anything fancy and just a standard crew I can do the regular shipping. But, I usually fall to the asterisks, I can't help but look.

But they're just so extra special! I must have one!

Ended up setting up the uv again. Because I have no idea where a heater is and the tank was getting too cold with this weather.

Marine Betta is majorly stressing me out. Acting super sketchy leaning in a really obvious spot like he's hiding. Hopefully he's fine, hopefully he'll be back to normal tomorrow....

Both normal firefish are out and about, the foxface, the royal gramma, the possum wrasse, the cardinal... I even saw the molly miller blenny scooting around. Have not seen the leopard or dusky today and the betta is being weird.

He was swimming around yesterday while the tank was still clearing up, I hope I just spooked him today with moving the rockwork.

Skeletor woke me up at 530 this morning to take his sloth outside for a trot. He also peed on his sloth, so he's staying outside until I have it in me to run the washer.

First day back to work after a full week off, working only 3 days, then another full week off. Guess I'll use the extra time to prep some lunches. :upside-down-face:

He’s doing his best lol.
