Cade Chaos Grimoire

Well, yesterday was a mixed bag. Land clearing started, we need to overthrow the govt, and parts of my tiny project arrived.

Bowl & lights. Rock & other bits start arriving next week. Raccoon hand sums up my feelings lately.

thought you was a year out from starting to build?
No, approx a year out from moving. They quoted us 18 months from closing because of the amount of time it takes for permitting to get through. They said once permitting is through it's generally a year because of supply chain issues.

Curious if you were able to lock in a price, or if everything is still subject to fluctuations in material cost.

Kinda? They quoted us a price and they quoted us high they said based on last year's supply prices. But there was a clause that said that if it does cost significantly more we will need to adjust. But they've also mentioned that some costs have come down compared to last year so - fun mystery

CADE reef 600 s2 cube ordered.

Temp downgrade, then once we move - pony tank & the 1200 gets set back up (or we upgrade that to a peninsula)

Apparently it's time for my biyearly stunner bleaching event.

I really need to pull and frag it anyway, to sell off & mail off. At least now I don't have a huge colony to worry about. I'll test today and see if there was a trigger, everything else in the tank looks the same as usual though.

Update: tested. Nothing out of the ordinary.

This happened a couple years ago as well, lost 95% of the colony then it grew back even bigger. Here we are again.

How's it looking now? Has the tissue recession stopped or is it just bleaching out?
Everything along the edges is in perfect condition. Bleached/died from the center.

That's crazy
Last time it happened it was much smaller and went through this insane growth spurt afterwards. I didn't trim any of it off and it grew back over the death.

This time I'll be trimming it off and fragging up the healthy bits.

I was going to today, but I am still recovering from the full sun from all day yesterday. I tested then took a nap. Now watching AEW Forbidden Door. Priorities.

We're you able to save some of it? Silly stunner, mine kept doing that also.
Yes, I only had four frag plugs so I made four frags of it. If I had more I could have made more

Second time in four or five years that it's done that nearly completely from the inside out. Last time I just left it and let it regrow over itself.

Possible flow in the middle of the coral?

Any chance you found a empty snail shell or two inside of it ?
