Cade Chaos Grimoire

weren't you going to a frag swap this weekend ?

Calling it on the pods. I did not stop my subscription of them yet luckily - I'll use harvested phyto from the one canister to try again on the pods. I'm wondering if the phyto I used for them was bad. I picked it up at the lfs I'm not a fan of and it was settled out weird.

CBB ate some random stuff today, bits of frozen that fell on rocks, some bbs, etc. Hopefully it's getting enough to sustain it.

Cow sucks at catching food, but learned what the turkey baster is so that's solving that problem.

Zebra bar goby was completely out this morning and ate with everyone, hasn't hidden herself off again yet.

Tilefish ate and hid again.

My parents are coming to visit today.

Tank tasks on the list before they arrive:

Fill ato
Fix gorg that fell over
Scrape glass
Change uv bulb
Fill oxydator
Check ats to see if it needs cleaned out
Refill auto-food container (I didn't put a ton in there initially because I didn't know how well I could trust it yet)
Maybe a FTS??

Already done:
Feed fish
Spot feed nps
Harvest bbs (used for both above)

Yes, this is accurate. Found my order email confirmation lol.
That one was the most expensive when I was looking, so I didn't try it. Plus I thought it would make too much since it was huge. So basically I was scared to try it.

But. If you end up using it and liking it I might give it a whirl. I remember the harvesting was from the bottom.

Definitely keep my updated on whether or not you like it, or if you get clean harvesting from bottom draining.

What eggs did you go for? I'm always on the lookout for better products!

I went with the ones you said you're using. Good harvest. The pour from the bottom was super clean with this container. It was pricier for sure, but Matt made a good point : I'm more likely to consistently use it if it's easier to pull from.

It is pretty big, I just didn't put a ton of eggs into it for now. As I get the ponies and garden eels and other assorted things that will likely eat them as well, I have the space to increase the amount I'm making. Every single fish in the tank seemed interested though - except the tile (hiding) and cow (slow).

Quick progress. Robot vacuum is running so I can't run the line to fill the ato quite yet. It's not empty, I just wanted to check that off early if possible.

Also, tons of little coralline flecks ON THE GLASS - why are they never on the rocks

Tank is shaping up nicely. Looks great. In my experience, I hate coraline covered rock. Purple coral blend in with the rock. I have a purple maxi mini nem that's probably over 10 years old. I have to look for it at times because it blends in.

I interested in your oxydator. Benefits, maintenance, cost, does it help with algae.

Hey thanks!

Coralline and I have a testy relationship when it comes to glass. My old 90g got upgraded because the coralline was growing into the silicone seaming and it was only a matter of time before it became a serious problem. If it's going to grow somewhere, I'd rather not see it anywhere near my silicone lol

Oxydator claims to help with all kinds of things, I can't necessarily prove it helps with anything specific but I can tell you I have less filmy looking algae when I keep up with refilling it, I clean my glass less often, and my water looks clearer in general. We moved the tank to the new house on the 13th and I just found my jug of peroxide to get it running properly again.

Oh! The tilefish was out this afternoon swimming around, it did hide again once it noticed me noticing it.

(Was towards the end of snow dissipating out)

Supposed to go to frag swap Saturday the 10th. Already contemplating bailing.
Go for like the last hour. Then you may get some good deals. Is there something special your looking for?

Not particularly, another reason I'm contemplating not.... plus so many people.

It's still nearly 1.5hrs out to not be looking for anything specific.

I'm off Wed (tattoo & tax collector office to deal with house stuff), Sat (that), Sun (only day to not have any responsibilities).

Yeah I try and stay close too. The one here is only 30 min out, and it's nice because I can shop Reeftrader first and buy from non vendors too. I'm there anyway then and just stay for a bit, go have a bite then come back for raffle and deals at the end of the swap.
