Cade Chaos Grimoire

Another ICP test back in the bucket. Calcium, ALK, mag all still stable (haven't tested since Nov, oops).

This tank drinks flouride & iodide so working on some corrections for flouride & increasing my daily drops of iodide going forward.

New clowns have been free for a week now, they seem to have picked the ruby Xenia as their nesting location.

Sand sifting star was on the glass this morning, haven't seen him since he went in the tank. Took Skeletor for his walk & by the time I got back he was back in the sand somewhere.

The company who made me my tank lid, also made me a new ATO lid with cut outs for my light brackets (instead of me sawing apart the one that came with). Plan for today is to get that installed. Apparently my brackets aren't centered right now so I have to move them around. But it's been almost a year with no lid on the ATO lol

April is a year with this tank! I think my goal this year is going to be to build up my zoas again, I lost a lot with the transfer and the one filefish who thought they were yummy.

Best advice I can give going forward with the new house build. Is to have QT setup. Seems ludicrous to wait 4-6 weeks to add a new fish that you always wanted. My tank has ich now. 14 fish. The last few will not go near the trap. Plan now is to remove all rock and coral to catch the remaining few.

"train" your fish by feeding with a turkey baster.
twenty plus fish in my 150 tall and only two that don't come to the top when the baster breaks the surface.
easy netting.

Oh I'm not moving far enough to need to start over. And I have over a year to worry about that anyway, thanks.

With all the extra space at the new house there will be a quarantine tank regardless. Already in the plans.

Gonna have to try that. I fed them with food only in the trap. Some got smart and avoided it at all cost.

The number of times I hit this aquacave ad banner trying to go to the most recent page of my build is incredibly frustrating.

I did not move the lights around or change the ATO lid yesterday. We got distracted signing the contract with the bank, because they messed up a bunch of **** and it was a bunch of back and forth all day long. But we won, and they amended it and fixed the time frames! Closing still lined up for March 25th at this point

Stand your ground for what is right!

that dusky is fire! Lfs has one for two weeks. So hard not getting her.
Doooo ittttttt
Do you use a Klir that replaces filter socks. Thinking trying one but so much bad. I get it’s a drop in so won’t be perfect in ever situations.
Yes! It was a game changer! I run 1 klir & a cap on the other sock hole. I read a lot of mixed reviews and was on the fence about it initially, also a lot of people saying they had to modify their cade sump for it to work.

It fit perfectly and I didn't have to mod anything. I've had a few hiccups here and there - sponge growing on the plate that breaks the seal and has to be scraped up, baby trocus snails getting in the roller and tearing it up, etc etc. None of which are the brands fault, just a risk you run working with living creatures and a reminder to do regular maintenance.

Way better for me though, as I was especially bad about changing socks in a timely manner.

Thank you for taking the time. I understand the issues with snails and stuff. I normally don’t read reviews because most people are the problem or don’t understand. I will not use filter socks. No way no how not happening.
Think I will give it a try.

I have a 4"

I pull the whole thing out of the back to change the roll, now that I don't have to look up how to do it each time it takes like 5min total. I don't unplug anything for the process, but I keep a little scrub brush handy to clean off sponge & spirorbis worms or whatever those hard little white ones are.
