I have been searching the forum and can't seem to find a post I was reading a while back about a member that painted the edges of their cadlights stand. So I have a couple questions.

1. Is it necessary/recommended to paint edges of the cadlights mdf stands so that they don't soak up any spilled water which is bound to happen at some point?
2. Is there anything else that I should do to the stand (68g versa)?
3. Do you have any threads/pictures you can point me to of a black stand with a white interior? I am thinking about painting the interior white to help hide salt creep over the long run as well as give it a nice accent but am not sure what this would look like. I am also considering siliconing the interior edges of the stand so that water can't seep through the cracks and onto my floor beneath (if water spills out)

Thanks!
