Hello all. Looking for a Cadlights PLS-50 skimmer. Is this thing a unicorn? I can’t find it anywhere. If someone has one and would like to sell it would you ship it to Canada? Lol

As far as I know they aren’t selling tanks or equipment anymore. Except I think to commercial customers.
But yes mode aquariums used to be cadlights.

Unicorn. Ur not gonna find cadlights skimmer anymore. Maybe used but far stretched imo. Good luck with your hunt.

I have one and it’s great but the last couple of people I steered to Mode to get one have not received anything. Mode will take your money through PayPal but they aren’t shipping and will not answer messages or calls. They appear to be out of business. Good luck finding a used one, or a replacement pump for it, which will eventually be my problem

I ordered a skimmer from Mode on feb 13th. I got a confirmation and tracking info on the 14th! Hopefully it’s legit.

So mode aquariums is legit?? Lol. I’ve been trying to get a hold of them for weeks. They said I needed to contact them because I’m up in Canada.

They are legit. But as I said I dont think they do retail anymore. Maybe if they have some NOS.
Does not hurt to try callling or emailing them.

I've got a never used PLS-100, came w/the 50 gal cube I got from Cadlights about 10 years ago. Never used the skimmer and never got rid of it, just one of my reefer closet fixtures now. But I think this is larger than the PLS-50.

I remember those. It’s too big to fit inside the back chambers of the larger Innovative Marine AIO tanks. That’s why everyone wants the PLS-50. It’s the best one that actually fits the tanks.

AAh, I see... yes I could see that. The one I have definitely looks a bit large to fit in the back chamber of an AIO, though I haven't measured.

I ordered a LS50 II from mode aquariums on 3/5/22 and as of today they have never confirmed the order or shipping. I have called them and left messages requesting status but no return calls or answers to multiple emails.
They are not registered with their local Better Business bureau. If they are legitimate, they are really bad at customer relations/service.
I will wait a couple of days for a reply to my second email request and then I will go down the road of a fraud report and paypal resolution..

That sucks man, sorry to hear that. I hate dealing w/sketchy outfits, been burned before so won't actually hand over any cash until I can see some good ratings on an unafilliated public review site with recent comments.

Any update on the skimmer? Did it ever arrive? Was thinking about pulling the trigger.
