Ok a friend of mine has a 125 with all crushed coral substrate. Well with the calcium reactor it has become calcified. The whole bottom of the tank is one solid piece. Is there a easy way to to break it out or get the calcium out of it?

Is the tank still running? If it's not, you could pour a bottle of vinegar and let that soak. It should dissolve whatever is binding the substrate together

I am in a similar situation and I went through a lot of reading and concluded that there is not much you can do about it. The only option is to change the substrate completely which is easier said than done.

Yeah we would probably have to take the tank down. Some of the rocks may even be stuck in the substrate.
