Calcium Carbonate RODI Cartridge

I came across this article the other day, and I may try this.

Basically it's just an extra cartridge filled with aragonite (I might use calcium reactor media) after the di resin. The lower ph RODI water acts similar to a calcium reactor (but not as low ph). Obviously this isn't going to replace dosing or a calcium reactor, but I don't think it would hurt anything. I would be more interested in the trace elements.

Has anyone else tried this or have any thoughts?

By the way this would be used for top off water, but I guess could be used to mix new saltwater too.

I use my RODI to give me water without stuff. After going through getting all the stuff out why would I put stuff back in. I would do stuff to the water before I used it but I would not do something to all the water.

I think a bypass would be a good idea though.
