i couldn’t find anything about this so please help me.

I’m in the making of some of my own dosing solutions including the calcium-strontium mix.

I’ve purchased a couple of boxes calcium chloride (anhydrous)
I have mixed them but now it isn’t a clear solution (see photo)
I’ve put a glass of water next to it so you can clearly see it.

I’ve no idea if i could use this or not.
I already ruled out Contamination or something in the strontium mix since I made a couple of test fluids.

What’s the purity rating of the calcium chloride? Did you see the recent BRS tests on this subject?

As stated 94-97% non food grade.
Yes i did see the video and i watched there fluids but they didn’t see cloudy. Some of them had some sediment.
And the only post I could find was fluids turning brownish.

I think BRS let their stuff settle for a while. They did have some that discolored too.

Those numbers add up to 99.4%. So there’s a good bit of “other” stuff in there.

You’ll think that’s the problem?
But now the big question can I use this or is it better just to throw it out and order something else?

It’s hard to say without knowing what the other stuff is, I suppose. Maybe the manufacturer can give you a more detailed breakdown?

I cannot tell if the material is adequately pure to use, but I'd ignore the precipitate. Some brands have it and are still OK. It may just be calcium sulfate.

Much of that remainder is probably water. :)

Done a bit of further research and I bought technical grade instead of food grade (witch is called Cacl food)
just send a message to the manufacturer for a more specific analysis.
I’ll just wait for them to respond
