I was just wondering if this could be used. I'm trying to save a little money here. I'd rather spend it on corals. LOL

The MSDS on that product just mentions the calcium chloride with no percentage. Usually it'll say what percentage is calcium chloride and sometimes a percentage of other chemicals that are mixed in. I just followed what Mr. Farley recommends which is food grade chemicals. This is what I use. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KFPYPKG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's pricier than what you found but it's food grade and worth it for my piece of mind

no need to go to amazon for calcium chloride. Your local redimix concrete place has 50 pound bags for 25 bucks or so.

The harder to find diy two part is the magnesium chloride. I found a local industrial chemical supplier here which would ship in 50 pound bags from another location with no shipping charge. costs 30 bucks or so.

Way back when, the original DIY two part recipe was developed with baking soda and Prestone driveway heat (an ice melter)...
