My calcium on my Hanna reads 567 and on my red sea its 360. Alk (Hanna) is 7.67 for the record. I was very careful doing these tests.

I'm using 0 tds ro/di for the calcium Hanna test. Could that be the problem? It says use non iodized water. I assumed good ro/di water was ok?

Thoughts? Thanks!

I have had NO luck with the Hanna calcium checker and since scrapped it. I bought a triton test sent it out and my Red Sea was within 30 of that test - on the low side. I tested same day I sent out water sample. The Hanna Alk works great.

Does anyone know if ro/di water is ok to use for the Hanna calcium test? Its the only variable I can see to throw off the reading.

I don't know about the rodi water, but my checker was all over the map, pitched it as the red sea one was more accurate

I have had Issues with the Hanna tester. You have to be very precise and follow the direction to a tee and use good di water. I really like the Salifert test kit better.

I love the Hanna checker but you must be VERY precise and use RODI that has no cross contamination with any saltwater at all. The tube must also be rinsed in RODI afterwards.

I'm able to do this test quickly now. Maybe I'll make a video sometime. You do need a .5ml syringe which doesn't come with the kit.
