Calcium dosing pumps left on!!!

Guys, a good friend of mine that got me started in the hobby just got home a realized his Apex unit went into default mode and left his Ca dosing pump on all day! Apparently, over 2L of Ca solution was added and his Ca tested at 1750ppm!! He's got a 60 gallon system and is doing over a 50% water change right now and will retest. Anything else he can do to salvage the livestock? It's a mixed reef/fish tank. Any additives to bind the calcium? Thanks for any insight that can be given.

Water change is the only way to reduce calcium from that level, but it may not be all that harmful.

How do the creatures look?

He said the fish seem ok but all the coral don't have their polyps extended. SPS polyps are withdrawn, Hammer/torch coral look drawn-in as well.

Hopefully there won't be any lasting issues, but water changes are the only way out, and I can't think of anything else useful to do.

might also want to add some fail safes to his programming like Fallback OFF.
