I have a 1 head candy cane coral. So far that's the only LPS in my tank (12 gal) I am hopefulling going to LFS tomorrow and I want to get either a frogspawn or an acan. My calcium is 460, could I get both, or should I get one and wait a bit and test calcium to see the levels?

Ca is fine. I have both sps and lps and run my levels at about 410-420ppm. But keep testing to make sure it doesn't drop below 380ppm. Ideally you want to average between 380-450ppm. A little above is fine, just not below if possible.

Depending on what salt mix you use, I'd monitor alkalinity and if you do not need alkalinity, you will not need calcium (or magnesium) unless you used a salt mix that started on the low end of calcium (like normal Instant Ocean) or use lower than 35 ppt salinity. :)
