My 28 gal. HQI test at 400. I have read it should be 420-450. How do I raise it up a little. I do not add anything right now. Just have skimmer with chim pure. I don't have a sump either. I want to add more corals but want my calcium right. Can I buy a liquid and just add it?

400 is good, but if you want it higher simplest way is to buy a calcium suplement and add it till it reaches your desired level.

I wouln't worry about 400 thats fine. When it starts going down there are alot of good supplements out there. Remember that ca and alk need to be in balance.

Thanks to everyone for all the help. I just thought 400 didn't give me much room for error. I'll test the water for everything then go from there. Thanks again.

Time to switch to Instant Ocean Salt for a bit, and doing some water changes with that, as it tends to mix light on the calcium side. You can bring it down in short order. But if its sitting around 500 yiur system will take it down, its just going to take awhile.
