Calcium high

So I upgraded my lights a little while ago, and they have created a lot more heat. Due to this, my salinity rose like crazy due to evaporation. I just got it down to 1.025 but my calcium is crazy high, like 540. How can I lower it?

Water changes with lower calcium salt. What brand are you using now? Are you dosing anything?

I'm not dosing anything. And I get my water from my lfs. I believe they use instant ocean reef sea salt.

Test the calcium of your newly mixed salt water to see what the calcium level is.

540 isn't too high, as long as your KH is 10° or higher you will be ok. I would still try and lower it cause Higher calcium is just harder on your pumps and other equipment.

what is you alk?

if alk is low then simply adding small amounts of baking soda will raise alk and lower calcium

But please review the diy two part to get the whole picture.

Bump your KH up until you get it under wraps(10-12). Your acros might like to condition though!
