so I did a calcium test and got a 489 and I got alkalinity dkh 6.1 I haven't been dosing anything just doing water changes is my calcium to high?

No, it's not too high, but your Alkalinity is pretty low. What's your Magnesium? This needs to be within a certain range for everything to kind of balance out.

Unfortunately I haven't bought a magnesium test yet I just started keeping coral about a month ago I'll pick up that testing kit tomorrow and check it out

The calcium is fine. I'd look to add some alkalinity, maybe by just baking soda. Don't worry about magnesium yet. It will be just as came with the salt mix in a newer tank.
