How many ppm does calcium chloride have when mixed with Ro for balling? Also does it affect kh in the same way as kalkwasser? Or minimal effect? Or none? I get around 1000 ppm calcium out of fully saturated kalk, and after a week it's still at 900+, I mix around 18 l in one go, which is currently around 9 days worth of calcium loss, but is around 2 thirds approx of my evaporation, trying to think ahead. Not really sure I'm answering your question here. First of all, no idea what balling is? Also, why are you adding calcium chloride? Kalk or Limewater is generally mixed using calcium oxide or calcium hydroxide. Perhaps I'm missing something, but I would tend to believe that adding calcium chloride would add chloride to your tank as it reacted to water and released the calcium, and I would think that high levels of chloride would be a bad thing. Again not really sure I understood the question.

Balling is system from Europe similar to the 3 part system only they add more trace elements to it if I remember correctly. I don't know what formula they use however if you use An Improved Do-it-Yourself Two-Part Calcium and Alkalinity Supplement System by Randy Holmes-Farley - Reefkeeping.com

Recipe # 1, Part 1: The Calcium Part
Dissolve 500 grams (about 2 ½ cups) of calcium chloride dihydrate (such as Dowflake 77-80% calcium chloride or ESV calcium chloride; see below for substitutes and sources) in enough water to make 1 gallon of total volume. You can dissolve it in about ½ gallon of water, and then pour that into the 1 gallon container and fill it to the top with more freshwater. This solution has about 37,000 ppm calcium.

I am not sure I fully understand or can answer your full question.
Calcium chloride does not affect dkh or ph. It is good for raising calcium levels when you do not want to affect ph or dkh.
Calcium hydroxide is used to maintain calcium levels and dkh levels but not to raise them, it will also raise ph.

I think your other question is you want to know how much calcium chloride you need to maintain a certain level of calcium in your tank through dosing. Your going to have to try and figure that out your self or maybe someone like Boomer or Randy can help better.

I used to get my ca and alk at brs but found it cheaper at my local pool store that's even with gb discount.
