Calcium Level

Two thoughts immediately came to mind. What is your alkalinity level? A high calcium level can make you have a very low alkalinity level. And, second, maybe you did the test wrong. Once I used two times too much water and got the wrong reading of course.

^ Agreed. What are your ALK and SG levels? What are you topping off with? You're not dosing anything, are you? Could be a testing error or a bad test kit. I'd test again and if it's still that high try a different test kit.

I agree. These numbers play off each other. My calcium is always the same no matter what I do. Hope you figure it out!

Is it possible to have too high of a calcium level? My tank is less than a month old and it's at 640 ppm.

If you are not dosing anything, and your salinity is 1.026, and you are using a brand name salt mix, then the answer is no, it is not possible for you to have a calcium of 640 ppm. You probably did the test wrong, IMO.

If he used AZ tap water, its very possible to have his Cal over 600.
