I am dosing for Mag and AKh - is it possible that calcium levels can increase? I stopped dosing calcium as it got quite high but it seems to just keep increasing but not sure how/why ?? (Haven't done a water change for a week so not due to that)

well I dosing Topic Marin Balling ABC - I did a 350L new fill and a 10% water change 10 days or so later but my ALK and Calcium were low. So brought up levels slightly and then stopped dosing Calcium about a week ago but the levels are increasing. I thought it was maybe my testing (red sea and salifert test kits) so bought the Hanna tests - only thing is it says use "de-ionised water" I make my own RO with 0TDS but have read that this is not the same as deionised water you can buy so may be affecting the test result? Just wondered if it was possible in theory for calcium levels to increase rather than reduce?

your RO water could have calcium in it . just a thought . is it always 0 tds and have you calibrated your tds meter recently?
