When bringing up your magnesium is it common that your calcium rises up too?

I've been going threw a coralline growth spurt, as of late.
So, My reef is taking in more mag during the week.

I've been using the Brightwell "Magnesion" liquid over the past year.
When I dose up the mag with that product, my cal rises up too.

I used to buy the Seachem "Reef Advantage" mag crystals in the 5kg buckets but I can not remember if that product did the same.

So,

Does dosing up mag raise your cal too, or does it depend on the mag product that you use?

I would say it depends on the product .. I can't say I've noticed my calk raising when I've added triton mg .. but I could be wrong

How much did calcium rise relative to what size magnesium boost?

Dosing magnesium will not itself impact calcium up or down. A product that also contains calcium, of course, can boost calcium, but most do not have much in them.

Boosting it can reduce the demand for calcium and alkalinity from abiotic precipitation, so if you are automatically dosing them and add magnesium, calcium and alk may rise, due to less demand than previously.

In my case:

It could be a little bit of both of the above scenario's, are playing out. :)

Thank You!
