Calcium nitrate vs magnesium nitrate

Does it matter which I buy to make a nitrate solution for dosing?

I’d use calcium as it is a balanced calcium and alk additive. Magnesium will likely rise long term from using the magnesium version.

If you’re not looking to add the calcium or magnesium there is also sodium nitrate and potassium nitrate. I’ve used food-grade sodium nitrate (from Amazon) to make a 1ppm / 1 ml solution that I’ve dosed when my nitrates were lower than I wanted with good success.
