I’m just about ready to hook up my calcium reactor and I’m wondering which way I should do it. I have a peristaltic pump and I’m wondering if it would be better to figure out how long per day to run it to keep up with my needs or would it be better to run it full-time and then adjust the pH inside the reactor? I have a trident that I’m hoping I can set up to control it

I highly recommend this route. My buddy did this and I have set mine up like this. Sooo much easier and consistent. Once you get the the alk to match its like set and forget until your alk demand goes up more.

CARx are meant to be run continuously.
I set mine up based on @jda procedure. No issues. No ph probe, I may put one on for alarms like when the co2 runs out.
Geo reactor, kamoer pump, green leaf regulator.
I used a 10 ml/min flow. Set the bubble rate to give me ~25dKh.

I run mine full time with a quiet Tom pump

pH probe and other things that are supposed to make things easier just end up causing problems some day. Learn how to tune the thing and then just set it run constantly with that tune - even if you want to use something else to try and control it, you have know how to tune it so that you can fix everything when the pH probe or tester messes up.

IMO that video has ruined more people for CaRx than anything else that I can think of.

I have a google doc in my signature if you want to read it.
