I recently purchased an Avast Marine Calcium Reactor and it is leaking at the recirculation pump (already emailed company awaiting reply). I do not know what these unions are called and have no clue how to stop the leak. The internal O ring looks perfect no blemishes and it is on a level surface. Its not threaded so I don't think I can use paste and am at a loss. I can't run the reactor in the sump as I have no room. Id appreciate any ideas hopefully someone dealt with this before.

Take it apart and make sure there are no cracks in the plactic and pvc. Make sure they used thread tape and reasemble taking care not to over tighten cracking the plastic.

Couldn't really use thread tape with this type of fitting. However avast marine responded and all I needed was silicone grease or vaseline. I tried that and no more leak. Thanks Toejam.

The pipe they used is going through that and into the other plastic fitting should have thread tape on it, same witrh the top fitting. There are two threaded pieces on that pump.

Avast has top notch customer service. Am a big fan of them. Let us know how your reactor does. I am interested in one down the road some.
