Does anyone have any experience using Reactor media outside of a Reactor, or know if this would be of any benefit?

I own a calcium reactor but am not quite ready to make the install. Will this media simply react to CO2 in the water column the same as traditional crushed coral does or have an added benefit due to its concentrated make-up? Obviously CO2 directly injected via a reactor is ideal for the process to work as intended, just thinking outside the box here.

I doubt the adding any media will make a noticeable effect on your water chemistry. A deep sand bed will eventually get a low enough Ph at the bottom and work slightly as a buffer on a system but what you're describing will not work. I'd either hook up the reactor ASAP or dose a two part to keep things stable.

Thanks, it isn't an emergency I already dose Kalk via my ATO and Mag directly as needed. I suppose its time to get that CO2 tank filled and hook up the reactor!
