Am I the only person that has trouble with seepage and leakage from my Sicce 1.5 when running external? Are there some submersible/external combo pumps that are more leak proof than others? I know the eheim has bulletproof reviews, but the front housing is attached very similar to the Sicce. I need something in the 200-300 gpm range, but external specific pumps are rather large for this.

My eheim pump on my calcium reactor was leaking at the front housing attachment around the plastic elbow when I first set it up. I drained it all and took it back apart(which was a pain) and used a bunch of thread tape on it and it hasn't leaked since.

Thanks guys. Mine leaks at the actual o ring where the front housing attaches to the pump body. The Sicce isn't a very robust design there. The Eheim has similar o ring design, but must allow a tighter fit and clamping mechanism. I really like the idea of screws holding it on like my panworld external return pump, but Danner is the only one I see that does that.
