Calcium reactor Q

Something will change if you add more media.

The same amount of CO2 being added to the chamber will not maintain the same pH as before. It is difficult to say what the new levels of elements will be based on the media volume.

My methodology is to test alk and maintain a certain level. Recently add ReMag to help maintain magnesium otherwise Alk is what I manage via the effluent volume.

When you add media,,and nothing else is changed,,,does the reactor add a higher level of alk??

I presume you are asking about a CaCO3/CO2 reactor, and will answer with that in mind.

Maybe, if there is not enough media or contact time for the pH level in the reactor to come to equilibrium with the media. But if it already reaches equilibrium, then no, nothing will change.
