I recently purchased a Reef Octopus CR140D calcium reactor. What brand and size media (fine/medium/coarse) do you folks use. Obviously I need media for it and want to buy the optimum.
If anyone has specific knowledge of use of the CR140D, the first chamber has a vent port that has a plastic in line valve. While I understand that valve should be open when initially filling the reactor to evacuate all air should I then shut it off or leave it opened slightly during use (vent line with valve runs into a connector on the water inlet).

I use coarse ARM media & for the hose with the valve, omit the valve all together and run the hose from the vent to the T...
Run the reactor wide open and after about an hour or so all of the air should be gone

Going to try the ARM coarse media. Anyone have any idea how much I should buy for my CR140D?
