Hello everybody.

I just got an octo 220 calcium reactor. It's been working all night but I have the following question.

The output hose it's not having continuous water. It's goes empty most of the time. I don't know why. It's that normal? I have a valve to control how much water goes out but since it's empty it's fully open atm.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

You not getting a feed. I have run one without a feed pump for nearly 15 years. Run a tee fitting off your main return line. Hasn’t failed me yet.

Softhammer, would you post a picture of this? I'm thinking of setting up something similar. Want to make sure I'm not totally crazy.

You should be getting solid effluent from the line, regardless of which pump you are using. If you are using a gravity or passive method, then get a dedicated pump or use a T off of the return line.

I’m not at home for a few days but I’m trying to find the fitting for you, then it should make sense. It’s a very simple plumbing setup that has work flawlessly for me over the last 14-15 years. Having a heck of a time finding the $2 part though.

So I guess they are $11 now but still absolutely worth it. Aquacave is the only place I could find it. Just pick the size that corresponds to you main return line and splice it into the hose. Keep it below your normal water level. That way any spray is contained should the fitting ever crack on you. https://www.aquacave.com/reducing-tee-fittings-by-aquamedic.html
