I have set up my geo reactor and it’s been up and running for about alittle over a week I’m using arm extra course with remag my dkh has bend dropping .1-.2 a day as I’ve tried increasing flow starting at 5 ml a minute to now 25 mls a min reactor is set tang of 6.5 notice it drops to about 6.3 then turns back on when above 6.5. I measured the effluent and it was only 11.6 should I decrease the ph in the chamber?

That acceptable. +/- .5 is fine and especially occurs at lights out
Im set at 6.5, and it ranges 6.3 -6.8

Bringing this post back up to life. I’ve been using arm ec with remag in my geo. I currently have the controller set at 6.1-6.3. My alk has been dropping constantly not drastically but over time. I measured effluent with my Hanna checker and it was only 10.4. Should I lower ph even more or look into different media I’m currently at 80 mls/min on my kamoer.

If you want to use a pH monitor, then that is what happens... it comes on, dumps a bunch of co2 and then turns off. You can be more efficient and get better results if you stop using the monitor and tune the thing to run all the time, but this takes work. There are instructions in my signature about how to tune a reactor.

Since I’m always on mobile, I forgot all about signatures!

I also use a ph monitor, but only to get alerts for extreme highs (signaling I’m out of CO2) or extreme lows (signaling something has plugged my effluent. Otherwise, I just set at a moderate drip rate and set the CO2 at 4-5 seconds per bubble. A few days later, I measure alk and adjust ONLY the CO2 accordingly. If my ph starts running below 6.3 to keep up, then I’ll increase effluent and start over with CO2 adjustments.
