I have always run a Calcium reactor dripping into my sump and my top up water goes through a kalk reactor from a 50 gallon holding tank of ro/di water. Between the two I just keep up with the needs of the tank. I do tend to be chasing the ph a bit which does seem to be the result of the calcium reactor. I was thinking of running the Calcium reactor in the fresh water from the ro/di holding tank and having it drip into the holding tank. My thought is that this will put the calcium and trace minerals into the ro/di water and lower the ph of this water. The lower ph in the holding tank should in fact allow the top up water to dissolve more kalk as it goes through the kalk reactor which will also raise the ph so that the calcium reactor is no longer causing a lower ph in the display tank. Has anyone tried this or are there any thoughts on problems with this setup?

I was wondering if anyone has ever tried this. It seems like the chemistry should work but I have never heard of it set up this way. I will probably go ahead with it this weekend since I don't really see much potential for disaster. It will take a while to get any results but I will post them if anyone is interested.
