Hello everyone!

I'm about to purchase a Calcium Reactor and it's down to 3 options:

Geo 618

Geo 624

Vertex RX6 Duo

** I'm leaning toward Geo because it's a popular choice among reefers.

** I'm leaning toward the Vertex RX6 Duo's extra canisters because it looks like a more advanced design and can potentially keep PH in check.

I don't have very much SPS yet but that is about to change very soon.

I did a thread kinda similar to this and the results I got were Geo by a landslide

If you've got the money then go vertex, you wont regret it. The Geo's are excellent too, but get more favor than the vertex due to the reduced cost. There are alot more people using Geo due to this fact, therefore there is more feed back for the use.

Don't forget My Reef Creations. I feel they make a great CalRx too. I am very happy with mine and pretty cost friendly too. I really like the dual reactor setup as well as the spray bar in the first reactor....some nice features.

please share any experience with the vertex, does the extra chamber really help you keep water parameters in check?

Just an FYI you can add a second chamber to any CaRx. I think they run about $100

You can also make your own chamber.

Cost isn't too expensive either, probably half of what you'd spend.
You will be able to customize your design as well.

Reactor wise, Geo is great, I'd normally go for the reactor that is more consistent, otherwise you'll have alk swings, which lead to STN then RTN.

I own the GEO 6x24 and love it. The extra chamber does help with excess CO2 in your effluent. As another poster already stated, you can add a second chamber to any reactor. I have also ordered replacement parts for the reactor and did receive quick responses to my product inquiries.

With an additional reactor you may need to have a higher output of CO2, otherwise the flow won't be consistent.
It's also a good idea to land PH probes in your reactors to monitor their potency.
I normally keep my reactor PH at 6.7-6.9. Instead of using an expensive Calcium Probe.

Look at Avast's reactor, the you build it kit is the way to go, i was going to go Geo till i found it and would not ever change now.....for the money its hard to beat...i think it has been taking off their website as they are in the process of a Gen2 creation but just email them and see....most likely just or dan will have a better update.

Ive had mine for just about 2 years now and it has run great. i have a write up in their forum i beleive.
