I've been struggling with my ALK/CAL levels. I just did a test and my ALK was 6 and CAL was 360. Can anyone recommend a Calcium/ALK reactor or is better to just dose a two part?

If your struggling with calcium it could be low magnesium. What is it?

A calcium reactor is good but deals with low ph. Kalkwasser is good but deals with high ph. Manual dosing of calcium chloride, baking soda, and magnesium chloride/ sulphate is fine but more time involved.

Im personally thinking of a caclium reactor, or kalkwasser.

calcium reactor can only maintain the alk/cal level in your tank. You need to raise your alk/cal to your desire level then set up the reactor to maintain the level.

Ca reactor can maintain .ca,alk and mg you have to add a 80%-20% media ratio looks a Brstv video to see

I'm using the DaStaCo XtremA Reactor suitable for 2000 litres tank which IMO is the best in the market now...

Hmmm it was also for me but as I live in Lebanon, we pay for each 1kg of A or B powder 40$ so I decided to save and move to this one... I also hear that GEOs are great but we don't have them here...

Could I use this in conjunction with a Calcium reactor?

Yes, many people use limewater in conjunction with a CaCO3/CO2 reactor, primarily to raise pH.

So, If I go the doser route and my ALK is 6, how much should I be dosing a day to bring it back up to around 9?

That's not possible to answer.

I can tell you how much of what to dose for a one time correction, but I can't tell you what you need to dose daily to keep it there. You need some trial and error for that.

This calculator can also help with the former calculation:

So my ALK is 6, Calcium 360. I am using ESV Bi-onic. It says 1ml per 6 gallons

The 1 mL per 6 gallons is one of a variety of estimated starting doses to recommend based on what is in the tank. Then you adjust by trial and error.

Is B-ionic what you are using? The product being used matters.
