I have just started a new calcium reactor and I have my effluent drops at a steady flow my alkalinity is at 10.5 trying to get it to 9.5

I set my C02 to my apex controller at 6.7 on and 6.5 off and the bubbles to 1 to 2 bubbles at 4 to5 sec

Should I speed up my effluent drops to drop my alkalinity or increase the C02 any help would be much appreciated

To lower the alk of your aquarium you’ll need to maintain a higher pH in your reactor to lower the dKH of the effluent. I would just raise the pH set points for CO2 control on your Apex to 6.9 on and 6.7 off, wait for the alk to stabilize, then slightly increase the pH set points again as necessary to achieve and maintain 9.5 alk. You could also leave the set points as is and just reduce the drip rate of the effluent to lower the alk, but it might be difficult to keep the drip rate steady unless you’re using a peristaltic pump to move water through your reactor.
