so im gettin a calcium reactor for my new build my question would be when do i connect it to the tank before the cycle or after

Agree set soon as possible and run it get your levels right and that way if something goes wrong it won't effect corals. And when you get corals you will have all the bugs work out and it will be dialed in.

i would just set it up right away to test it all for any leaks. i wouldn’t run co2 in it tho because you have no corals at the time except for testing purposes.

This^

For those new to calcium reactors esp, I'd use 3part/2part while you are filling the tank up with coral/inverts as you will have to make fine readjustments on a reactor, having to test/adjust VS simply adding a few ml to your dosing.

Like it was said above, plumb it in, have water running through it etc etc, bit dont turn on the CO2 until you are pretty much done stocking the tank and are just in the ,"grow out" phase.

Just my .02

Never had a calcium reactor I always used a doser so as far as setting it up how would I add cal alk mag?

If I turn use the reactor don’t I need the co2 to be in as well how else would I be supplementing cal alk n mag?

I would would use it as if there were corals in tank. That way you can know how to get calcium reactor set spot on to your desired parameters. And d like I said that way you can get to operation. It won't hurt a thing to run CO2 . I would to learn it before you get corals in tank.
