Do I need special magnesium media for use in my CalRx? I noticed Two Little Fishies ReMag while cruising around MD's website, but I'd never heard of anyone adding something like this to their reactor media. Thoughts?

I use it. Actually, I think I bought the Brightwell version of the same, as it was considerably less expensive (almost half IIRC). It works well. Just make sure you proportion it correctly to the calcium media.

It depends on the magnesium level in the regular media you use, and the types of organisms in your tank since some consume more and some less than average magnesium relative to alkalinity.

I'd start without it and see if you need it. :)
