So I'm going to take the plunge and try a calcium reactor. After all the years I've never had a big enough tank to use one. So here are my choices, I came across 2 calcium reactors used and I don't know which one I should go with so could use a little advice, it would be much appreciated. My two choices are below.
Even thou the MRC CR-2 is rated for a larger capacity but I don't see how that's possible because the 1st chamber is much smaller then the GEO618. I do not plan on going to a bigger tank anytime soon so either one will be sufficient. Both units come highly recommended!!

1. My Reef Creations CR-2 Dual Calcium Reactor

It's an older version so it doesn't have a spray bar or ph probe holder in the first chamber I would have to t a ph holder between both chambers. The upside to a dual chamber is the ability to raise the ph back up before in goes back into the sump. MRC said that the older version is not upgradeable to add on a "spray bar and ph probe holder in first chamber" :((

Height of reactor 21"
Reactor Chamber Diameter OD 4 1/2"
Reactor Chamber Thickness 1/4"

Water inlet size 1/2" Nylon Barb
Water Outlet size 1/4" John Guest Speedfit
Method of feeding Gravity or Pump/powerhead
System capabilities 500 gallons
Needle Valve for effluent control Standard
Water Pump Magdrive 2
Chamber Capacity 14 pounds

I would choose the MRC option just because it is going to be quieter and consume a lot less power. The function of melting the media is the same, and the only thing that separates for bigger systems is you can run them full out and add media less often. I have a 4" x 24" dual chamber and it has handled heavily stocked SPS up to 2000g. I just had to crack it open every 4 weeks and add more media when its running wide open.

I spoke to a sales rep today from Aqua Cave and they carry both units. He said they sell a lot more GEO's but the MRC dual chamber is a better unit becuase of the second chamber. The second chamber helps remove excess CO2 before it goes into the tank.

You didn't mentiont your tank size but a AquaMaxx S1 or S2 if you have a large tank or the Nano version for a smaller tank. I've run both the above and the AquaMaxx dials in faster with ease. I strongly recommend it.
