Hello, sometime ago I got Pinpoint II Calcium monitor (second hand). The probe is been left dry for few months, and it don't show me anything after I turn it onn and test it.
I bought 2 months ago Hannah HI-4104 (new in sealed package) but I don't realise there is no reference solutions to can calibrate it (and like we know different devices use different concentrations.
So now can't use the device with that probe at all, as I have to calibrate them 1st. The probe is still in the vial to stay there not to age opened. I'm looking for advice buying references 1000ppm and 100ppm solutions which aren't that expensive (I'm living in UK/England).
Or the better way for me (if can do it somehow) DIY to make them by myself with chemicals which aren't forbidden here in England. I have scales to 0.00 grams for measuring dry/wet chemicals so if you can help me with some formulas I'll appreciate it!
Thanks for your help ;)

I would contact American marine or buy their calibration fluid. I suspect it needs to be in a seawater matrix which makes diy very complicated.
Thank you @Randy Holmes-Farley ! I don't want to order from Amerika, as I just got a parcel from @revhtree and was really long and hard run to can get it (Too much postage issues and the huge amount of charges will kill me completely)
In that case can you let me know: Is it possible any 1000ppm and 100ppm Ca reference solution to do the job for me? like I know the membranes are very specific and can't find what can destroy them faster what is harmless to them and only the Ca will affect the measurements (no additional data about in the Hannah database, as the membrane/probe is by them).
I was think for something like: adding Calcium hydroxide or another form of calcium (powder) to RO/DI water until the water come saturated with calcium. After to take exact amount of it and dilute it with some amount of RO/DI water until I reach the 1000ppm and 100ppm, which I can use as a reference (+/- 1-2 ppm don't think will be problem, as can't reach that pure tests with DIY calibration solution) ?
And can you give me @Randy Holmes-Farley few formulas (actually the chemicals) which I can use by myself and the exact amount of them to try do that references? If you can, I'll see what I can find here in the UK market to buy and to build.

P.S. I forgot to open the thread in the "reef chemistry by you" Can you move it there, as I think there is the right place for it Please

something Please, as I can't find almost anything in google :(

I do not know if one can use a simple 1000 and 100 ppm cqalcium solution without a seawater matrix, and hope to get correct answers. I would write to Lou Dell at American marine:

Thank you @Randy Holmes-Farley , I think I got it now mentioning "seawater matrix", 1st time I don't get it at all (my fault).
Thank you for the contact details. I'll give them a call later on and will see what's can be the solution for my issue.
