Hi Randy i was previously using BRS 2-part but switched to your recipe#1. I bought calcium chloride 83-87% from a chemical company here in town. Ingredients are calcium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium chloride and water. I mixed it up the way you said, yes i used ro/di and have one question. It is a little cloudy after 24hrs and there is probably about a table spoon of sediment on the bottom. Is this normal? Is this ok? I was going to just pour into dosing container slowly to keep as much of the sediment in the mixing jug. First time using additives that are DIY so just wanted to check first before i start using it. Thanks

If the sediment is white, then it might be calcium sulfate. I bought some calcium chloride from a swimming pool supply company that had this issue. It's not really much of a concern. As you suggest, my solution to the problem was to simply decant the clear calcium chloride solution off of the precipitate.
