I screwed up on a water change, hoping a nothing comes of it or it’s an easy fix.

180 gallon tank, was doing a 35 gallon water change, using instant ocean I know this batch calcium has been around 365, wanted to dose water change water so that new water is 420, used seachem reef fusion.

I used the online calculator, for that calcium, but instead of inserting the 35 gallons for volume I was looking to dose, I entered in by mistake the size of tank (180) not the size of new water for water.

I dosed in water change garbage can 350 mls of calcium, instead of the 85 I should have put in.

when. Did the math, my display tank should now be at 475 with that much calcium, before change was 420 or so.

the water change water with that 350 ml dose according to calculator got up to 630 ppm or so, instead of 420 I was aiming for.

what should I do?

Have you tested your tank to be sure what it is?
I would test alk.
I would be more worried about alk than calcium.

What do you have in tank? SPS, LPS? If SPS then they would suck it up quickly. Or, just do a WC.

Ok I ran test. Calcium is 460 now, (15 hours since I did this water change ) and alk is 8.6. Usuallly I keep alk 7.5-7.7, but I suppose this water change water had closer
To 10 alk, usually it’s 9.

I would do nothing. 460 ppm calcium is fine.

I understand in the final display tank, after water change, 470 is fine, I’m more
Worried about the high concentration o had in the water change garbage can where it should have been as high as 600-700, wouldn’t I have seen precipitation in the garbage can?
