Calcium

The short answer is no.

If it were to get too out of balance, it would affect your other chemistry, but since you'll probably have nothing other than coralline algae and possibly a cleanup crew (I'm thinking shell formation here), your normal water changes should be more than plenty to keep it at normal levels. Leave it be; it will be fine.

As long as you dont have any coarls in the tank and since you mentioned that its FOWLR tank then you should be fine, You water changes will take care of this.....

As long as you don't want Coralline growing, your safe.

+1

FWIW I would still use the very easy and inexpensive diy two part. Corraline, some macros, and the like can use the calcium
