I'm not sure where to ask this question but how do I determine the flow rate for each setting? Like if the flow strength is set to 9 (out of 20 max) for the RN-1 and it's gph rating is 396 to 2642, how do I figure out what it is pushing out? I'd assume slightly less than half power, but I've learned that assuming anything in this hobby can lead to problems lol. I'm trying to figure out how much flow we need in our tank and how to set our wave makers for that requirement. We have two RN-1s and 1 QP-16 (which I'd love to eliminate since the controller is on the fritz and it's big and ugly).

I don't know of a definite way to calculate how much true gph flow is coming out of a powerhead/wavemaker. I think the best you can do is determine the scale and go from there....1 being 396gph, 20 being 2642gph, and create a chart with the increments broken down. You can always contact the manufacturer...maybe they have a graph already produced.

I was thinking that may be how i have to do it. If i'm looking at the math right and breaking down each setting into a %.. 20 would be 100% of course. 100/20 = 5. So each setting is another 5%. So if i had it on 8. That would be roughly 40% more power (starting at 396 I guess).

I will definitely try contacting the manufacturer. I'm sure the response time is slow right now but that's to be expected.
